In 2025, Second Church of Christ, Scientist in Vancouver embarked upon a mission to restore our Church edifice to its original glory. The pathway has been bright with promise and the result is a beautiful 100th anniversary gift to our neighbourhood and our city.

When the Church was first dedicated back in 1925, it also included an impressive pipe organ built by the legendary Casavant Freres of Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec. The company has produced thousands of organs since its founding in 1879 and is still going strong.

Our Church members believe that any restoration of our edifice would not be complete without the full rehabilitation of our pipe organ so that the people of Vancouver and visitors can fully appreciate the healing services Christian Scientists provide to our community.

With the help of Casavant and their representative Steve Miller, and our pipe organ maintenance expert, Aart Bijkerk from the Fraser Valley, we have already started to move forward. We estimate the final cost to be about $100,000.00 and we’re about a third of the way to meeting that goal.

It is our prayer that all those who love pipe organs, and the church services they enhance, may see the value of this project for our world class city and its environs.
